About The Smith-Nance Family Tree
This page is always going to be a work in progress, it will never end. A lot of work and time have been devoted to making this page what it is. I hope you enjoy looking at the photos and reading the stories I have on some of the people inside the site. If you have any photos you'd like on here or stories to share, I'd love to have them. Make sure you read and sign the guest book while your here also. I'd appreciate the feedback on the site! This is your page, too. I may be WebMaster, but I couldn't have done it without all of you. Without you, there'd be no site here. Thanks to all that contributed to making this site what it is! A million thanks to Jerry Nance for his hard work on his website and allowing me to "take whatever I want!" A link to his site is below. Many thanks to Polly Nance, as her website has a wealth of information about our family on it. You'll find a link to her website below also. And, a huge thanks to Ann Smith and Cousin Cheryle for entrusting me with their treasured pictures, and to my sister, Debbie Trueblood, whose help in scanning pictures and slides has been a Godsend! And my sister Teresa, who has copied a bazillion photos onto cd's and sent them to me, and to DeeRay and Angie Garcia... You've been unbelievably helpful in ways you'll probably never understand.

Just so everyone knows, this site is not a free site, it must be paid for. The cost rises each year,
it seems, but to lose all the hard work that has gone into this site.... Well, it's just unimaginable. I worked on our family tree for 4 to 5 years before I found the internet back in 1998.
When I discovered TribalPages in 2001, I knew it was *the* place to save my work. 13 years of searching, documenting, scanning pictures, and locating families from all parts of the country. As I
stated before, this is a work in progress. Never ending. Hard for me to believe I've been working on
this for 30 years, and still feel there is so much unknown about our tree!

12-7-12
I know that the circle of life is ongoing. We welcome new births and are saddened when we have to
say goodbye to others. I've had to say goodbye to my father, Bobby Lee Smith. I suppose I thought he
was going to be with us forever. It hit me much harder than I had imagined. Days creep by, and I
have just now been able to write about this without crying my eyes out. Daddy passed on November 5th in Magnolia, Texas. I'll post a picture of his obituary under his name. I really miss him.

12-15-2019 My husband, Steve, passed one year ago today. To say I miss him would be a complete understatement. Dealing with that loss has been lessened, if that is even possible, by the birth of my granddaughter, Elloria Rose Williams, born to Vic and Ell.

May those that have gone before us watch over us, and continue to remind us of where we have been,
so that getting to where we are going will be all that much easier!

Lynda.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
